I understand the toll that mental illness can take on an individual. Isolation, fear, intrusive thoughts, and lack of motivation are just a few of the challenges that can burden a person living with a behavioral health disorder. The good news is that treatment can help!
I use a combination of research-based therapeutic modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) while implementing psychotherapy as an exploratory tool to help clients uncover and heal buried pain. CBT focuses on identifying maladatpive thought and behavioral patterns and utilizing a process called "thought reframing" to improve outcomes. The DBT approach involves teaching mindfulness and fostering skills to self-regulate intense emotions.
Clinical Interests
I especially enjoy working with clients with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and other mental disorders like Clinical depression (also called Major Depressive Disorder) and Bipolar Disorder. My earlier studies in physiology and health have helped inform my holistic approach to therapy, considering traditional, spiritual, and physical well-being.
Personal Interests
In my spare time I enjoy being in nature, hiking, and camping. I also love traveling and expressing myself creatively through a variety of performance arts.
